Zendaya is a bit of a mixed bag. There is no denying that Zendaya has talent, but the songs given to her for this album did not work in her favour.

Despite the album’s stellar beats, it’s clear that Coleman is still a rookie. She doesn’t quite hit the high notes and fails to keep her pitch steady, but the falters in her voice aren’t enough to take this album off replay! Is it really surprising that the body-rocking, dancing Disney superstar has an album that makes you jump up and down around your room? Nah, it’s not surprising at all!

All in all this is a really nice debut record from a Disney star that might just be the best yet.

Zendaya is a streamlined, self-assured first effort.

Overall, this is a very disappointing first effort. The production is, honestly, the downfall of the CD. It sounds so low rent. There’s no personality or color throughout the CD. It’s the same exact sound recycled over and over. It’s pretty empty – which is sad as a debut album. I can’t figure out if the production doesn’t fit her voice or vice versa, but something isn’t working. Unfortunately, this is mainly filler.
