Louder Sound
Atlanta rockers Blackberry Smoke blend rhinestones and rock’n’soul with reliable skill on seventh studio album You Hear Georgia.

Saving Country Music
20 years in, Blackberry Smoke isn’t showing their rust. They’re hitting their stride, understanding their species is slowly becoming endangered, taking that prognosis personally, and doing what they can to keep the torch burning, and the memories of the sounds of the South alive.
-
Rock and Blues Muse
Blackberry Smoke casts a long shadow with You Hear Georgia. It’s a wonderful album that fans of 100 proof American music will be spinning all Summer.
-
PopMatters
If anything, Blackberry Smoke’s You Hear Georgia shows that the group are improving with age. After 20 years, they still make songs that make you want to boogie your troubles away. While some of the themes are similar to previous Blackberry Smoke songs, this collection of songs is enough to keep new and old fans singing along no matter where they are.
-
Distorted Sound Magazine
You Hear Georgia is another dazzling example of just how they do that, but this release really pushes any limit they have done before. Despite there being a couple of moments that don’t stand out, there is no doubt that BLACKBERRY SMOKE‘s You Hear Georgia has made country fans happy, rock fans happy and Georgia proud.

All Music
It's nothing unexpected but it's all effective, from the sturdy song constructions to performances that know when to lean into the muscle and when to let things swing.

Blackberry Smoke are the ultimate antidote to bad vibes, and You Hear Georgia is more than just escapist fun, it’s a superb record.
-
American Songwriter
Blackberry Smoke continues to deliver with the assurance and dependability that their fans have come to expect. At this point, their chief priority seems centered on maintaining their dixie designs.

What better way to celebrate than to make a record which reflects respect for the people, place and sound of their home state?

HRH Magazine
Atlanta’s finest walk a fine line between country music and Americana along with a healthy dose of gold old fashioned Southern rock and roll music. With Blackberry Smoke’s latest release, they continue to lead the way as the current torchbearers of the genre down that now well-trodden path. Upon reflection, there is one way to describe ‘You Hear Georgia’, and that’s smoking!
-
Ghost Cult Magazine
Your Hear Georgia is an accomplished collection of energetic, country-infused Southern Rock that is as American as apple pie, baseball, and partisan politics.
-
The Moshville Times
You Hear Georgia shows that Blackberry Smoke’s fire burns as bright as ever. Keeping the album at a constant level underlines their modus operandi and a current reflection of the times. It’s their most sure-footed album to date and pays less deference to their inspirations to make the most Blackberry Smoke album to date.
-
Lyric Magazine
The emotional range of You Hear Georgia runs from blood-boiling, fist-pumping moments of searing instrumental work to intimate moments barely accented by acoustic guitar. On You Hear Georgia BBS shows their range as one of the great rock bands in America.
-
Maximum Volume Music
The trick Blackberry Smoke have always managed to pull off, though, is that they make this apply to everyone, everywhere. Great music does that, and make no mistake about it, this is another masterclass.
-
The Musical Divide
This album doesn’t change that, and it is still really good, but it’s also a slow-burn aiming for a more specific, equally slow mark in its execution. And as someone who prefers the wild energy and passion that fueled those earlier albums, this feels a bit weaker by comparison. Still, it’s hard to go wrong with Blackberry Smoke, and if there’s a reason they’ve made it 20 years, it’s because they’re an excellent band still well-worth supporting after all this time.
