With the Killers, greatness and ridiculousness go hand in hand. Their fifth album contains only a little of both.

Wonderful Wonderful is a wonderful album (I had to do it just once). It is a strong, consistent album, lacking filler, and just presenting the best of the best.

They have executed this album extremely well as they have continued to produce countless tracks present on the album that genuinely feel good tracks and are bangers to dance too as some of the tracks within the album present a lot of 80’s vibes.

  • Stereogum

Wonderful Wonderful marks their most emphatic embodiment of purposelessness. While he might not be treading the same ground until he buries himself within it, Flowers has instead regretfully decided to simply keep the band immobile where they are.

Wonderful Wonderful (Island Records), is a solid, self-confident album that will please those disappointed with 2012’s Battle Born, but it’s unlikely to garner the band any new fans (not that it matters).

  • Pretty Much Amazing

On Wonderful Wonderful, there are glimpses of that ambition on an otherwise routine album from a top-notch band on autopilot. But if the Killers want to capture the moment like they did a decade ago, they’ll have to want it more.

Wonderful Wonderful is an album that doesn’t let the listener look forward to the next track, because the album is restlessly glancing backwards over its shoulder, haunted by past successes of The Killers, and the great artists who came before them.
