While it's not an album of the year nominee, Alaina's debut project shows she has plenty of potential and will be capable of big things in the next few years.

On Wildflower, she captures the restless spirit of small-town girls who get grounded for French-kissing the boy next door; you can hear her rebel fire in the barn-burning fiddles on ”Georgia Peaches.”

Lauren still has a girlish twang to her voice, which lends her a greater bit of vulnerability, something that comes in handy on her quickly recorded and released debut, Wildflower.

The album had three solid tracks, her lyrics were well written, the instrumentation was decent and her voice was beautiful, but most of the tracks were just not my thing.

  • A Separate State of Mind

Her talent shines through on each track and gives the listener – regardless of age – a highly joyful experience that will fluctuate between getting you emotional to making you smile. The album is safely country-pop. It has a healthy dose of both.

  • Blinded by Sound

Wildflower is a strong debut with hints of what might be possible but what matters for Lauren will be how she follows this up.

The song establishes that this 16-year-old from the Peach State may come across as sweet and delicate, but vocally, she packs a punch.
