  • Slant Magazine

Crow remains a strong writer and singer, to the extent that Wildflower earns more than just a passing recommendation.

Crow might not be breaking musical ground, but good is good, and Wildflower’s sure to grow on you.

  • PopMatters

Previously underrated, Sheryl Crow returns with a record not worth defending.

More easy listening than rock, Wildflower sees a more settled Crow exploring love.

Throughout the album, Crow’s vocal melodies are her most ambitious and memorable to date.

While Wallflower may not restore her to the high profile she enjoyed a few years ago, it’s still a timely reminder that she’s one of America’s more talented songwriters working today.

That sustained warm, burnished, relaxed feel -- at once rootsy and upscale, modest and classy -- is reason enough to return to Wildflower to give the songs a chance to take root, and once they do, the album seems to be one of her most consistent records and one of her best.

It's all too dull to make anyone care but Crow.

'Wildflower' sees Sheryl Crow softening her edge and turning the spotlight more on herself. It's a good move, and should see her adding to the legions of fans she already has.

Was there a record playing? Oh right. Didn't love it. Didn't hate it. Didn't really notice it. Bad.

I bought this the day it came out and have been listening to it everyday. Lance Armstrong has been good to Sheryl Crow because I think this may be her best, even better than "The Globe Sessions."

Overall, it's more dinner party than dance floor. Excellent if you're entertaining and don't want the music to overpower the conversations. Not so great if you're looking to get the party started.
