This album, however, positions him as a neo-R&B singer in the vein of The Weeknd, Miguel and Frank Ocean, oozing seductively over glitchy beats and keyboard washes.

This album will stay in rotation for a long time and will likely have a place in the Lucas Garrison music Hall of Fame. Not because it gets a higher rating than some other album on an arbitrary scale, but because it manages to do something that most albums don't. It gave me those moments. Only the great albums do it (some only do it once or twice) and here, Anderson gives me six, tossed into an already incredible body of work.

His eclectic style, songwriting and production abilities, and musical chops allow him to effortlessly blend genres borrowing from hip hop, alt-rock, R&B, jazz and electronica.

Filled with both hype and mellowed out jazz, “VENICE” is the complete package.

While exceptions such as ' Paint ' move a bit too much according to the 0815 consensus scheme and 16 songs lead a little too extensively into the world of Anderson .Paak , the finding of ' Compton ' is nevertheless impressively confirmed: the man who has been so far under the alias Breezy Lovejoy , you have to keep on the radar. Absolutely.
