The album features guest appearances from SoFaygo, Drake, Lil Uzi Vert, Playboi Carti, Ski Mask the Slump God, Polo G, Lil Durk, Babyface Ray, Sada Baby, Icewear Vezzo and late rappers Juice Wrld and XXXTentacion. Trip At Knight is the closest Trippie Redd has come to entering the desolation he eagerly creates.

Fantastic Hip Hop
Trip At Knight may not be the artistic revitalization many expected to see from Trippie Redd, but it has at least showed he still has the ability to create competent and enjoyable music. From the lengthy tracklist to the rancid lyricism, this project may be flawed, but you can’t deny that it’s entraining for nearly every second. Going forward, I hope Trippie can build off the sound and flare he’s built up here, as if he can refine this formula, he may be able to rise amongst the top of the trap genre again.

The album is well beyond the point of no return by this point, but “Space Time,” “Baki” and “iPhone” perpetuate the same shallow and creatively bankrupt ideas. Not even stellar performances from Polo G and Lil Durk on “Rich MF” could offer any sort of saving grace.

Hardwood and Hollywood
It’s filled with a lot of cheap and basic trap beats that all sound extremely similar, especially in the second half. Meanwhile, the lyrics aren’t any better, they’re just filled with the typical content of money and drugs that mainstream trap rappers repeatedly fall back on. I’d almost prefer the lyrical content from Pegusas despite Trippie Redd taking another different musical avenue that didn’t work out well.

Ratings Game Music
A good chunk of Trip At Knight features beats that you would hear on instructional YouTube videos, flows and melodies that you’ve probably heard before and hooks that are extremely simple but also catchy. At the end of the day, you certainly get to hear Trippie in his purest form, but I definitely feel like he’s outgrown the sound that the majority of this album boasts.

Legends Will Never Die
Now I much rather prefer Trip at Knight than Pegasus & Neon Shark vs. Pegasus, but by a very small margin. I feel like the production is very samey for a good 90% of it’s 47 minute runtime & a good majority of the features are outshining Trippie himself both lyrically & vocally.

'Trip At Knight' is an impressively solid project. The retro video-game flavour of the trap production is mostly quite the sweetener for Trippie Redd and the featuring artists. Hopefully, Trippie Redd does trim some excess fat to deliver more consistent projects in the future.

Regardless of the performances on top, Redd essentially destroyed any possible enjoyability factor of this album with his beat selection. I have no idea what kind of music listener would be into sitting down and consuming this as an album, Redd simply threw out 18 ideas and hoped one would become the next rage anthem given quite a few slightly different options to choose from. Please, I need a break. Take your time with the next one.
