July 3, 2017. So, this is not an incredible album. But in the context TLC’s legacy - as a goodbye tour to end one of the biggest girl groups of our time - there is still something touching here.

July 7, 2017. TLC doesn’t take any creative risks and, in doing so, ends up lukewarm and average — two words that would have never been used to describe TLC in their heyday.

Drowned In Sound
June 30, 2017. It’s enjoyable, but it leaves me wondering if TLC could have pared-back the nostalgia kick to allow their new songs to stand out in their own right.
-
The Young Folks
July 7, 2017. All in all, this album displays the old TLC we all know and love – their R&B style mixed with pop – but it also gives us a side of the group we hadn’t really seen before. It lived up to all of my expectations, and it was a solid way to end the legacy of TLC.

-
Soul In Stereo
June 30, 2017. TLC is more of a frustrating album than a bad one – the themes are here, the nostalgia is strong, the tone is decent but it feels more like the skeleton of an unfinished product instead of a fully formed body of work.

July 7, 2017. The album could be a party album, but really there is heart here. It’s about strength and perseverance, and though you can dance to a lot of it, you ought to listen hard to the album, too.

AmaruDynasty
July 20, 2017. Overall, the self-titled “final” TLC album can be seen as a blemish on the groups legacy. If it was based solely off of music, it wouldn’t be so bad – pretty mediocre – but still not so bad. Needless to say, I’m disappointed in the overall outcome.

June 29, 2017. For one final album this needed more chasing of waterfalls, less sticking to familiar rivers and lakes.

July 6, 2017. While this is a nice addition to the group’s discography, it doesn’t have quite the amount of draw as, say, 1994’s “CrazySexyCool.”

As moving as it is to hear her and Chilli together for another album, the material is not up to par with TLC's past. Flashbacks are more likely than repeat play.
-
Spectrum Culture
July 12, 2017. . . . albums designed to remind listeners of an artist’s greatness are supposed to do just that—remind. Instead, TLC beats you over the head with references and nods to their past glories and makes you want to hear those songs instead.
