What you won’t find on The WIZRD is the sound of Future stretching or surprising himself.

All the Futures come together to reveal more than ever about the multifaceted mumble rapper.

Its 20 songs sound like the final gasp of Future’s past depravity, undercut by his need to solidify his standing as one of the most influential artists of the last decade.

Future could evolve further for his next act. Taking that chance might come at the cost of a shiny new watch, though.

With inconsistency like this, it’s hard to see how Future still manages to keep his footing. Future mostly misses the mark.

The Atlanta rapper has previously kept his hard trap and softer, more melodic songs separate, but his new album successfully combines the two.

With The WIZRD, Future has created another trap masterpiece that could’ve only been born by him. His thumping heart, heavy soul and debauched lifestyle ooze all over it and it’s all the better for it.
