The Storm could have benefited from a more concise execution. Nonetheless, it’s a massive undertaking and another reminder how committed Tech is to his career, one that constantly redefines itself with age.

Tech N9ne has had a long career. It doesn't sound like he's quite ready to call it quits yet, though. The Storm has a lot going for it, and while it may be largely disappointing, there are promising moments. There's something. You can give it that much.

With not a slight regret and doubt I give it a pure 9 and leave you Tech N9ners to firmly dwell in the masterwork paint that Aaron`s creative mind whisked through like a finest brush would.

  • The Musical Hype

All in all, Tech N9ne delivers another exceptional rap album with The Storm. Listening to The Storm, one has to wonder, why is this dude so underrated? Without a doubt, The Storm is among the crème de la crème of rap in 2016. For hip-hop fans, this is a fantastic Christmas gift.

Because Tech has been so prolific using the choppa style, also using his harmonies as instruments, and flipping rhyme patters for years, this album reveals nothing new about his technical skills.

The Storm confirms Tech’s ability to push the boundaries of what rap can sound like and how it can look. The album, whether taking in 17 tracks or all 32, may give new listeners a reason to hop on board for the wild journey ahead but at the same time, Tech N9ne ensures his core fans are in it for the long haul.
