it's a busy digital production, filled with skittering drum tracks and thick overdubs -- but The Speed of Now, Vol. 1 almost feels old-fashioned in how it turns 2010s sounds into adult contemporary.

On The Speed of Now Part 1, Urban shares a glimpse into his struggles with quarantine while offering a much needed musical escape for listeners. This is an album filled with great tracks with some quite powerful and well thought out lyrics. I was not prepared for it to be this good. And it is really good. I do recommend this, and actually am interested to see what he will come up with for Part 2.

While the album struggles to stick the landing, the first half makes the whole listening experience of the album worth it. There are glimpses of his return to form, an encouraging sign after the disappointing Graffiti U album. Overall, I enjoyed listening to the album and I recommend it for all Keith Urban and country music fans.
