THE LAST TEMPTATION
| Alice CooperTHE LAST TEMPTATION
The Last Temptation is the 20th studio album by rock singer Alice Cooper, released in July 1994 via Epic Records. It centers on a boy named Steven (also the name of the protagonist in Cooper's earlier work, Welcome to My Nightmare), and a mysterious showman. The showman, with apparent supernatural abilities, attempted with the use of twisted versions of morality plays to persuade Steven to join his traveling show, "The Theater of the Real - The Grand-est Guignol!", where he would "never grow up". -Wikipedia
Critic Reviews
Show All-
Rough Edge
Dark and foreboding, "The Last Temptation" is done to perfection by the macabre master/showman himself, Alice Cooper.
-
Metal Storm
it seems to lack the spark of life that Alice had rediscovered a few years prior ... it has standouts by happenstance, not by design
-
Only Solitaire
this record is easily recommendable even for those who gave up on the guy in the late Seventies
-
Don Ignacio
a solidly written album, it's really nothing like anything he had ever made
-
Rolling Stone
1994 - Alice’s new record is his most listenable since then.
-
All Music
Far surpassing anything Cooper recorded in almost 20 years, The Last Temptation is unquestionably some of his best work.
-
Mike Ladano
Overall the direction of the album is dark and catchy, with great playing from the entire cast and Alice spitting out the words as only he can.
-
LOVE-IT-LOUD
the album is one of the bravest and most accomplished of his career
