Critic Reviews
Show All-
Rolling Stone
He tries to have as much fun as possible while following his own schizoid genius as it dances along the precarious divide between the sacred and the profane
-
Stereogum
While Gold boasts some tunes, its inventiveness finishes behind its competence.
-
Independant
It's as insubstantial and fake as a Lenny Kravitz album, which never used to be the case
-
Rock NYC
A fine collection of pop and funk songs
-
All Music
Most satisfying effort since Sign O' the Times
-
The Guardian
Containing his only UK No1, “The Most Beautiful Girl In The World”, and the astonishing courtroom-based “Eye Hate U”, this lavish record deserves more love.
-
Treacherous Friends Blog
The Gold Experience saw Prince at his funkiest, raunchiest, slyest and sexiest while delivering a collection of songs that easily match previous high points like Purple Rain and Sign ‘O’ The Times.
