For the most part though, this is The Ghost Inside getting back to the largely straightforward, undeniably powerful mix of metal and hardcore they have always done so well.

There isn’t a dull moment on the record, nor a moment that doesn’t hit exactly as it is intended to. Frankly, this is as good as it gets when it comes to this sort of music and no one will ever get it as right as THE GHOST INSIDE do. 2020 might be a hellish time, but THE GHOST INSIDE are back and better than ever, and that is worth smiling about.

I don’t know how ready you may think you are for this release, but I can safely say The Ghost Inside have absolutely, positively delivered one of the BEST and most encouraging albums of the year. With its themes of hope, motivation, overcoming, surviving and “give no fucks” attitude, it’ll be an instant win for long term fans and serve as a gateway for newcomers who have only just jumped on the band’s Engine 45 hype train in recent years!

They pour their hearts and souls into every ounce of the disc, all as they show their resilience—not just as musicians, but as the men they have become. In this, the eponymous LP serves as a gospel for The Ghost Inside’s indefatigable spirit—one that is very much “Still Alive.”

The Ghost Inside is the record that couldn't have happened, but thank god it did. This is more than just a tale of human strength having faced mortality - this is bewildering adversity blended with a quality of songwriting seldom seen in any genre. This album will permeate alternative conversation for years to come, not just because of its circumstance, but because of its extraordinary quality.
