The Chase is a more somber, reflective record than his previous three albums; but given a bit of a time, it's as satisfying as anything he's ever recorded.

My Kind of Country
The singles that emerged from this set have remained some of his finest singles and while the album cuts range from uneven to questionable, he manages to give us at least one worthwhile moment (“Every Now and Then”).
