  • Sounds Like Nashville

Blake Shelton returns to his roots on his new album Texoma Shore and embodies a sound that’s grounded and down-to-earth, much like the beloved early hits that turned him into one of the genre’s modern day staples.

“Texoma Shore” is autopilot Shelton: amiable, rapscallionish, but with a few concessions to the current moment, in which oafs have brushed their hair, shaved their scruff and tried to make right.

On Texoma Shore he returns to his roots. The album is free of gross overproduction and the empty posturing so many younger acts indulge in.

There is no reason not to smile listening to Texoma Shore. Shelton is happy and in love and you can clearly hear it in his voice and lyrics throughout this album. He proves he has picked up the pieces from his broken heart, has found love again and is enjoying the simple things in life now.

“Texoma Shore” stays true to the familiar Blake Shelton sound, but also dips into some newer elements currently popular in the country music genre.

  • Renowned for Sound

It’s true Shelton from start to finish, but it is pushing the boundaries of country and his music a little bit. I suspect the next record will be the truly special one, but this more than enough to keep us occupied and wanting more until that day comes.

There may not be anything overtly “amazing” on Texoma Shore but it’s one of the better releases of Shelton’s “superstar period” and one that should keep fans and radio both happily fed with songs ready for playlists of multiple stripes.
