The Brooklyn rapper is unlikely to win over converts with this creatively bankrupt collection that exposes the depressing hollowness at the heart of his music.

Since Tekashi 6ix9ine was released from jail, I have put up with his petty beefs, I have put up with his goofy videos, and I have put up with his colorful-ass hair. On the real, I cannot put up withTattleTales.

The instrumentals are arguably the least disturbing part of this album—generic trap beats without any substance are still the order of the day, and they're all over TattleTales; combined with the generic trap beats, the production and mastering of the album is still standard, overcompressed modern-day fare. When it comes down to it, there's nothing really positive that can be said about TattleTales.

Without the substance, the style really is just one big empty flex, consisting of women in bikinis, milk, money and rainbows. And maybe for some that’s the appeal and it’s my criteria that are wrong, but for now it’s just too shallow to warrant praise.

Listening to TattleTales is like volunteering to be trolled, and it may not even succeed on that front.

To conclude, while there's a banger or two here as he does his scream-rap style - the album isn't very good. The more melodic tone always sounds bad, and while his previous projects were full of bangers there was so many duds on this.

if he keeps making albums like TattleTales, where the quality of the music isn’t good enough to justify repeated listens, it’s unlikely that Instagram stunts alone will allow him to have a sustainable career. If this album is any indication, he may be putting on his reality show to diminishing returns.
