SuperM

SuperM (also known by the expanded title SuperM – The 1st Mini Album) is the eponymous debut extended play (EP) by K-pop supergroup SuperM. It was released on October 4, 2019 by SM Entertainment and Capitol Records.[The CD version of the EP has eight different versions: one individual edition for each member and one "united" version. The EP debuted no.1 the US Billboard 200 albums chart, becoming the first Korean act to top the chart with their debut release, as well as the fourth primarily Korean-language release to open at number one.-"Wikipedia"

  • The DiamondBack

    I think what happened is that SM Entertainment wanted to go all out and make SuperM a guaranteed big hit, big success and figured the way to do it was to do everything in excess. However, this is one of those times when bigger is not better. Hopefully, their next release will tone it down a little bit or at least show that the group has figured out who they’re trying to be.

    Overall, SuperM’s self-titled mini album is probably the most solid releases we’ve heard from K-pop in a while. SuperM showed us what you get when you throw in some of the industry’s most seasoned performers and then added newcomers to the stage. They say too many good cooks spoil the soup, but after tasting the concoction that is SuperM; we can’t seem to get enough. These guys didn’t just set expectations sky high⁠—they broke through it entirely.

  • The Musical Hype

    The 1st Mini Album is a blast to listen to from start to finish, which is, again, all of 18 minutes. What makes this effort successful is sleek production, awesome vocals dripping in swagger, bars that also drip in swagger, and catchy choruses.
