The album received mixed reviews from critics, and peaked at number six on the Billboard 200, selling 54,000 copies in its first week. It became the fourth highest debut album on the chart for the week of March 20, 2010. It also debuted at number 15 on the Canadian Albums Chart, which became its peak on the chart. - WIKIPEDIA

You might as well just listen to it now before you become really sick of it when it is overplayed in the near future.

There is no doubt that Lifehouse has brought a fine tuned album to the table lyrically, but those who seek eternally minded lyrics might want to look elsewhere.

Smoke & Mirrors is the band's best record to date and that includes their debut "No Name Face." It's filled with outstanding tracks and production and is enjoyable throughout.

offers absolutely nothing the band’s fans and/or detractors haven’t heard before: Sleek, perfunctory rockers, mildly thrashing alongside ever-so-earnest ballads, alternated according to some accountant’s precise algorithm, all given portentous-sounding titles like “All In” and “It Is What It Is” and “Wrecking Ball.”

Overall it mixes the commercially attractive mainstream pop sound with the more edgy rock sound; a combination that opened the way to success for Lifehouse in the first place.

Its very radio friendly and also very shattering since they can’t decide if they wanna be a pop or rock act on this album. But it is as said before a brilliant album when it comes to great songs and a given purchase if you like what they´ve done before.

It is what it is. If that seems like a frustratingly vague description, then well, that’s exactly how this album makes me feel.

The band knows what it does best though and this makes up the vast majority of a record which will please fans and marks Lifehouse's place as one of the most consistent acts amongst their contemporaries.

Do yourself a favor with Smoke & Mirrors (2010) and take a pass, (or as in my case), pass it along to your mom.

nothing on “Smoke & Mirrors” is significantly more notable than anything else. Wade and his bandmates have figured out what works, and their formula delivers with remarkable consistency.

Smoke and Mirrors may be inoffensive pop rock, but you won't find yourself hitting the "next" button.
