Sisters of Avalon

Sisters of Avalon is the fifth studio album by American singer Cyndi Lauper. It was released in Japan on October 15, 1996, by Sony Music Entertainment Japan. Thematically the album expounded on the issue of complacency and ignorance in popular culture and the discrimination of minorities, gays, and women. Songs like “Love to Hate” and “You Don’t Know” address the entertainment industry and media and their corruption. “Ballad of Cleo and Joe” is a song about the double life of a cross dresser. “Say a Prayer” is about the AIDS epidemic. -Wikipedia

Her sixth album — and first release of all-new material in four years — is a wonderfully eclectic affair that has the gorgeous sound of sweet comeback in every cut.

This is a truly great album and I still get as much out of it now as I did way back in ’97 when I took it home and played it that first time.

"Sisters of Avalon" is Cyndi's best work since "Girls Just Want To Have Fun." I haven't been able to stop listening to it. I highly recommend it to any music lover - I promise you'll love it

Avalon may be her labor of love, but sitting through it shouldn’t be such a chore.
