Distorted Sound
We’re left with a simple question as the 49-minute run time elapses: has MOTIONLESS IN WHITE replicated the success of Disguise? The answer is no. They have exceeded it. The phrase “album of their career” isn’t one we here at Distorted Sound throw around lightly. With Scoring The End Of The World however, MOTIONLESS IN WHITE have earned that accolade. They’ve stumbled across their golden key and opened the door to a new age for themselves. Disguise may have been the launch pad, but this record shoots MOTIONLESS IN WHITE into their own stratosphere.

The Review Geek
Scoring The End Of The World doesn’t hold up against the metal-core godfathers. It falls flat at moments, becoming a problematic listen, using techniques that have been done over and over again. It’s not a sorry listen, though, as the band bare their souls and ultimately try to create a masterstroke.

Ghost Cult Magazine
To most bands this would be an impossible endeavour, being lopsided either way or failing to do either well. In this band’s methods, they have made a noble effort and for the most part succeeded, creating some incredible heavy pieces while at the same time, almost ballad-like performances and the only issues that arise from this is that the sudden shifts in tone can create a musical whiplash, something that can easily be rectified with albums to come down the line.

Wall of Sound
While it’s not a perfect album, it’s a continuation of the band’s signature sound and an example of what they can produce under extreme amounts of pressure… such as a global pandemic!

Rock 'N' Load
Motionless In White have crafted truly the best release of their career so far with Scoring The End Of The World. The album sounds and feels completely fresh while being so familiar at the same time. The songwriting, the musicianship, the range of features, and just everything about this release are at the top of the game. An incredible album that shows a band at truly top form.

Music Matters Media
If you are not at least vaguely contemplating the end of days then you have not been paying attention. So, if you are in the mood to embrace the end of all history and you have shopped at Hot Topic at some point in your life, then this is the album for you. Turn it up and embrace the implacable void.

Sputnik Music
Overall, Scoring the End of the World features some very strong performances, lots of fun energetic tracks, and stronger song-writer compared to their previous full length effort. While there are a few duds in the tracklist: “Masterpiece”, “Cause of Death”, and the title track, I feel like this remains one of their most consistent efforts to date and offers a healthy serving of all the styles this band has developed over their 10 plus year career. I recommend this to fans and new-comers alike who are looking for fun, synth-heavy metalcore.

Cryptic Rock
With all of this noted, it’s easy to hear that Motionless In White has truly pushed itself with Scoring the End of the World. The emboldening of their cinematic components serves the group well, adding a plethora of new textures to their already eclectic sound. And it’s really no shock that they continue to integrate new facets into their music, all as Cerulli once again opens his heart with an authenticity that screams louder than any goblin growl.

When The Horn Blows
Scoring the End of the World carries on MIW traditions while keeping things fresh. It’s outspoken, well written and immaculately produced. There's plenty here for old and new fans alike, a solid bit of metalcore that’s well worth a listen. You can trace the development on from Disguise very easily, if you particularly enjoyed Disguise then Scoring the End of the World will not disappoint!
