Metal Utopia
an excellent listen for anyone who wants to hear a really well-written outpouring of emotion

Angry Metal Guy
Many of the songs on Sacrifices, taken in isolation, would rate higher than the score below. Some, like “Old Ghosts,” are even great. They are uniformly stirring, intense, and well played, and would fit nicely in a playlist titled POWER FEELS. In terms of album craft, however, this uniformity is the major drawback. An hour’s worth of loud, quiet, loud, loud, and very earnest screaming is a lot to ask of a listener.

No Clean Singing
songs like the chillingly atmospheric “Ashes”, “Old Ghosts” and late-album highlight “The Downfall” should satisfy even the most demanding connoisseur of catharsis with their striking blend of bold, bombastic riffs, moody melodies, and howling, Hardcore-influenced vocals
-
Wonder Box Metal
A textured, satisfying, and highly enjoyable album, Sacrifices is the sound of a band boldly striding into the big leagues.
-
Infernal Masquerade
Perfectly mixing dreamy passages with highly emotional vocals and monumental riffs, “Sacrifices” is one hell of an album. If you can dig what Amenra and Der Weg einer Freiheit put together would sound like, then A Secret Revealed is a band you want to check out.

Everything is Noise
If there really is A Secret Revealed on Sacrifices (you saw that one coming — admit it!), it would be that genre is never a limitation in the hands of great musicians and great writers. January is often a very weak month for releases, but 2019 could hardly start with anything better than this.

The New Fury
While it might take a few listens to fully appreciate every intricacy and new thing the band tries, the journey is worth it many times over and will resonate in your memory for a long time to come.
-
Toilet Ov Hell
The peaks on Sacrifices are always made up of a melodic flavor of black metal with absolutely rabid drumming and riffs that never stop shifting. I’m also a sucker for the way they drop everything but the guitar for a half second just to come back with an even more complex and energetic groove.

The Independent Voice
Eight new songs, but to my ears, one long song with a few variations here and there, but nothing that stick with me after listening to the album. Shouted vocals, tappity-tap drums, a bass that is not very present, but cool guitar playing pretty much describes this…on yeah, boring songs that all sound mostly the same too.

Has it Leaked
On “Sacrifices”, A SECREAT REVEALED explore more than ever the musical boundaries between metal and post-core.
