ROCK N ROLL JESUS..

Rock n Roll Jesus is the seventh studio album by Kid Rock, released on October 9, 2007. Rob Cavallo (Green Day & The Goo Goo Dolls) co-produced the album with Rock. Mike E. Clark produced the track "All Summer Long." The album was not available at the iTunes Store in an act of protest by Kid Rock regarding a royalties dispute. It was nominated for two Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album and Best Male Vocal Performance for "All Summer Long" at the 2009 Grammy Awards. "All Summer Long" from the album was named the official theme song for WWE Backlash 2008 as well as "So Hott" for WrestleMania XXV and "New Orleans" for WrestleMania 34. - wikipedia

Rock N Roll Jesus proves — roaring guitars, truckloads of attitude and an unquenchable lust for life make up for a multitude of sins.

There is an element of gospel to this album's music, and yet the lyrics are still cheerfully hedonistic.

There is a fairly catholic array of influences here: Smile-provoking nostalgiafest 'All Summer Long' lifts elements from both 'Werewolves of London' and 'Sweet Home Alabama.' But the mediocre 'New Orleans' makes hard work of celebrating Big Easy blues.

Even his derivative muddles exhibit such an irresistible zing that you find yourself laughing at and singing along to and not worrying that maybe his heroes did it first and did it better.

On the plus side, you can't fault Rock's persistence, this being his seventh original studio album. But while America has a firmly established adult rock market that's primed to receive his old-man country and blues, us Brits just feel alienated. The hard rock songs that do grab your attention - 'So Hott' and 'Sugar' - do so for all the wrong reasons, thanks to Rock's vulgar sex references. This album reached No.1 in the US. Don't expect the same here.

This is in serious contention for the worst album of 2007 it’s a giant brown shoe-trail of a listening experience.

I can't tell you how much I enjoy this CD! Not really a weak track on the whole CD - If you appreciate Kid's ability to play many genres. You guys know I love the guy, but I'm telling you this is one HELLUVA CD.

Kid Rock’s new CD has all the makings of a typical Kid Rock record. It's full of hard partying, women (strippers) and drugs. "Rock N Roll Jesus" is a thought-provoking journey into the mind of a modern, self-made rock'n'roll messenger.

  • there goes the fear

Any album that can catapult you back to yesteryear with a smile on your face, fast forward it to the consciousness of today’s woes with determination and grit. All the while scaffolding interesting and intriguing lyrics on a melee of beats, guitar grime, pristine piano playing and an all natural feel that is unrivalled by many other artists.

Kid Rock attempts to make a more "mature" record and falls flat on his face.
