Ripcord

Ripcord is the ninth studio album by New Zealand-born Australian country music singer Keith Urban. It was released on 6 May 2016 via Hit Red and Capitol Records Nashville. The album produced the singles "John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16"; "Break on Me", "Wasted Time", "Blue Ain't Your Color", and "The Fighter". It also features duets with musicians like Carrie Underwood, Pitbull, and Nile Rodgers. Just like his previous album Fuse (2013), Urban co-worked with multiple producers on this one. The album was nominated for Best Country Album at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards. On April 7, 2017, the album was certified Platinum by the RIAA. -Wikipedia

Keith Urban took his last name literally on his new album. For the first time, he’s worked with a rapper (Pitbull), a master of funk (Nile Rodgers) and even worked in some New York doo-wop. He’s also seized on influences from places as worldly as India and Israel and time-traveled back to the ‘80s to shock himself with major doses of synth-pop.

Ripcord combines the blandest qualities of its respective genres, creating an uncomfortable mishmash of styles, which end up feeling scattered and confused.
