Dancing Astronaut
To listen is to join him beneath the stars and sun and feel without distraction or interruption. If not all who wander are lost, Ringos Desert proves not all who are lost need saving.
-
Coog Radio
The nuance and artistry that ZHU shows with this release is incredible. He is able to create such unique songs, each different in their own way, but also sounding amazing together as a project. He also maintains his mysterious persona perfectly with this endeavor, being known for never showing his face or revealing his real identity, this mystical desert-themed project fits so perfectly with his character and brand as a whole.

-
Your EDM
At its core, RINGOS DESERT plays like a love album, but it’s more about the struggle surrounding love than the thrill of experiencing it. Songs like “Guilty Love” paint a picture of a forbidden tryst, while “Love That Hurts” delivers a far more unambiguous reference.
-
Trillvo
Filled with sultry tracks to keep you moving all day and night, ZHU has once again done the damn thing.
-
Complex
There are different flavors to experience on Ringo's Desert Pt. 1, but if I had to pick out the early standouts I'd lean toward "Burn Babylon" and "Save Me." The former track will turn up the heat on the dance floor, while "Save Me" provides a perfect balance of bass and finesse to get you in the groove.

We Rave You
The EP features 7 diverse and beautifully arranged tracks which showcase the producer’s undeniable talent for seamlessly blending genres and creating catchy melodies. Though the songs on the EP vary differently in tempo and mood, ZHU’s signature dark sounds and vibes are always at the forefront of each production.

Around every turn, you don't know what you might find or hear. It is weird, unsettling in some ways but overall just really, really good.
-
Living Life Fearless
The songs on here feel dramatic, almost theatrical, and match the overall desolate desert theme he seems to be pushing for not only on this project but his upcoming tour.
-
Character Media
“Ringos Desert” is a sonically bold and nuanced project from one of deep house’s freshest producers.
-
Birn
The title, RINGOS DESERT, fits the music well as the songs create a sense of moving through a desert; you can almost picture someone embarking on a voyage through the desert while listening.
-
Festival Gear
Zhu’s ‘Ringos Desert’ is an invitation to a pulp western oasis.
-
Run The Trap
The 14-track album showcases the San Francisco producer’s distinct style we’ve come to love over the years, as well as featuring dope collaborations with TOKiMONSTA, Majid Jordan, Tame Impala, Karnaval Blues + more.
-
The Acronym
The deep bass and ethereal vocals really do give the feeling of wandering through the desert alone, just as the album art depicts.
-
The Keynote
Throughout the majority of the tracks, the theme of melancholy carries over to the instrumentation: dark, deep bass synths combined with sharp, ominous melodies, ZHU’s signature sound, make the project seem familiar yet incredibly dynamic at the same time.
