Pitchfork
The Miami rapper is still bringing you into his world of opulence and hustlers’ theme music, but the view is more refined.
-
Hot New HipHop
On his eleventh studio album, Rick Ross relishes his status as a hall-of-fame worthy talent.
-
Clash Magazine
With features from Blxst, Yungeen Ace, Future, and Wale – amongst others – ‘Richer Than I Ever Been’ is shamelessly entertaining, the work of an artist who knows what his audience wants to hear. Punchy and effective, ‘Richer Than I Ever Been’ finds Rick Ross proving his worth all over again.
-
Rolling Stone
It’s all smooth sailing on the Miami rapper’s latest.
-
NME
The ‘Old Rozay’ knows that the customer is always right, never deviating too far from what made him famous in the first place.

RapReviews
Overall, aside from some promising lines and one, maybe two standout tracks, “Richer Than I Ever Been” is an album that predictably falls short. It simply features too many weak beats backing up bars that often do more to bore than they do to convey a sense of skill or originality. Rick Ross will remain a well-known name in rap nonetheless, however, that seems to be a sure thing. His brand will surely not suffer either on account of a subpar showing such as this one, and perhaps that’s the whole point.

Ratings Game Music
I am someone who thinks that Rick Ross has hella classic albums under his belt. While I don’t think that Richer Than I Ever Been is a classic, I do think that it is a project that will remind folks of RIck Ross’ prime.

Mic Cheque
Even with its efficient end, Richer Than I Ever Been yearns for more. The energy is lacking, from Rick Ross down to the production. For a rapper that loves to brag, Rozay is awfully shy on this one.

The Weekly Coos
Richer Than I Ever Been is still the middle of the road for Rick Ross. It has its moments in the sun and its moments buried beneath the ground – ultimately, it has something for everyone. I step up from Port of Miami 2, but it isn’t that hard to do.

Legends Will Never Die
Ross has always stayed consistent with his music, but I feel like Richer Than I Ever Been is one of his best albums thus far. The production is top notch as to be expected & lyrically, it’s nice to hear him take listeners through where he’s at currently.

Hardwood and Hollywood
Even with my complaints, I still enjoyed this album quite a bit, as I enjoy Rozay’s voice and flow quite a bit, and the instrumentals were still very solid. However, the lack of standout moments, a few misses on the tracklist, and the albums staying mostly in the same stylistic lane in most aspects kept this album from being truly great.
