Revival..

Revival is the second studio album by American singer Selena Gomez. It was released on October 9, 2015, by Interscope and Polydor Records. Preparation for the album began in 2014, when Gomez left her previous label Hollywood Records. The record was influenced by a range of artists, particularly Christina Aguilera and her album Stripped (2002). Gomez co-wrote twelve of its sixteen tracks. The album reflects her journey since 2013, including the media scrutiny of her personal life. -Wikipedia

The most surprising thing about Revival is its understatement, despite the hit-making co-writers, from the softly bubbling beats of the title track and the lust-dream R&B of Good for You to the spooky Ashes to Ashes synths of winning Charli XCX collaboration Same Old Love.

Revival isn’t perfect, but those tracks that fail to live up to the best (‘Me & the Rhythm’, ‘Rise’, and that unfortunate A@AP Rocky interruption in the otherwise perfectly lovely ‘Good For You’) only fail in comparison to some really fantastic pop / EDM / dance tracks.
