| Ne-YoR.E.D.
R.E.D. - (an acronym for Realizing Every Dream), is the fifth studio albumby American singer-songwriter Ne-Yo, first released on November 6, 2012. The album follows the disappointing commercial performance to 2010's Libra Scale and is Ne-Yo's first album with new label Motown Records after being appointed as the label's senior vice president for A&R. The album contains songs that crossover different genres of music, combining elements of R&B, pop and dance-pop. - Wikipedia
Critic Reviews
Show All-
The Washington Post
They are all great pieces, but they add up to a somewhat disjointed whole. Ne-Yo can do it all, but it’s not necessarily a good thing to hear it all at once.
-
Soul Tracks
There are just too many cracks in R.E.D. to seriously call this a notch up.
-
Entertainment Weekly
It’s all so smooth and casual, you’ll think he recorded in his (no doubt, silk) pajamas.
-
Newsday
Ne-Yo's move toward dance-pop continues with his fifth album, "R.E.D." (Motown), though he doesn't abandon R&B entirely.
-
Spin or Bin Music
Following the disheartening reception on Libra Scale two years ago, we wonder if he has turned the tables around on his musical effort. And indeed, they say third time the charm, but we say the fifth.
-
Soul in Stereo
Nope, R.E.D. is nowhere near perfect. But as Ne-Yo points out on “Cracks In Mr. Perfect,” “perfect is just glorified opinion.”
-
Digital Spy
The singer takes a back-to-basics approach for his strongest effort in years.
-
All Music
What's truly disappointing is the absence of energetic songs descended from soul and funk.

Grammy-winning gentleman proves to be Mr Not-Quite-Perfect after all.
-
Metro
Ne-Yo’s Red sees the r’n’b star hedge his bets, but some haunted, icy, coma-paced slow jams showcase him at his best.
-
Financial Times
Latest recording finds the US singer delivering R&B slow jams and slick dance-pop with customary charm.
