At least QUAVO HUNCHO is not a complete trainwreck—it works fine as a stopgap or as background music.

He’s just selling versions of songs that Migos would never try to serve me. If Quavo is going to make trap music, he requires assistance.

There is simply no need for Quavo solo material, but there won’t be a call for more of it until the rapper gives us an idea of what solo Quavo sounds like.

That isn’t to say Quavo Huncho is a bad album — far from it. Quavo Huncho is a relatively solid entry into the group’s overall canon.

Despite a handful of good tracks, Quavo Huncho is a culmination of the rapper's generic sound of recent years which has mostly grown stale.

Some will like “Quavo Huncho,” and some will hate it; I don’t think anyone will love it… It doesn’t push any boundaries or separate itself from the rest of the trap pack.

Never feels like it’s heading anywhere specific, and that’s fine for an artist still striving to find his solo sound, but this effort feels half-baked.

Not to say that this is a disaster of an album, this will serve for background music to parties but other than that it’s a completely dull project.

I can’t bring myself to criticize Quavo for not delving into a broader range of topics because he has never presented himself as anything but a Lamborghini-driving, Versace-wearing young rich nigga. He stayed true to himself and that must be respected. Album
