Critic Reviews
Show All-
The Guardian
Closing string ballad Dying in LA provides some respite from this parade of pizzazz, but ultimately it feels as glossy and one-dimensional as the rest.
-
New Musical Express (NME)
The sounds here are zanier, basking in the neon glare of the Vegas Strip
-
All Music
Throughout it all, Urie paints himself with Michelangelo-esque strokes as a flamboyant cross between James Cagney, Biggie Smalls, and Beyoncé
-
Independent
Panic! At The Disco’ frontman Brendon Urie is one of the most irrepressible characters in music, and nothing sums that up better than new album Pray For the Wicked
-
Q-Review
The elements of rock are more classical than hard because you can clearly hear both, guitars and bass, along with trumpets and saxophone.
-
News Day
It’s not just his singing — which often climbs to new, more theatrical heights across the album’s 12 tracks,
-
The Young Folks
The album’s serious, genuine moments are balanced out by a good dose of Urie’s usual theatrics.
-
Minnesota Daily
Nonetheless, whether you’re cleaning the house or lounging poolside this summer, you’ll need an upbeat soundtrack. This will probably get the job done.
-
The 405
Between horns, strings, synths, guitars and all the rest this record is definitely an attack on the senses

This album capitalizes on the success of Death of a Bachelor and raises the bar along the way.

-
Stars and Scars
In true Panic! At The Disco style, Urie has delivered a selection of hits that range from orchestral dance tracks to more alternative tunes, to slow and heartfelt ballads that will make you feel all the emotions you have and have not lived through.
-
DIY Magazine
Granted, his sixth effort is as bonkers and creative as ever, but it could be that less really is more.
-
Dead Press
All in all, as with most Panic! At the Disco albums, there’s plenty to like about Pray for the Wicked.
-

-
Amnplify
I just want to express how much I love the diversity of content that is contained in this one album and how many emotions it makes me feel in one run through.
-
The Daily Californian
Generally lackluster, occasionally messy, excessively decorated and filler-heavy, Pray for the Wicked appears to be intended as a better, poppier and louder follow-up to Death of a Bachelor.
-
The Zine
It's a raw concoction of stories about dealing with addiction, drifting away from people, gaining new ones and discovering your true self in between all of that.
-
Affinity Magazine
All in all, “Pray for the Wicked” did not fail to amaze
-
The Soundboard
But even on its own, Pray For The Wicked succeeds by simply continuing with what is potentially Panic! At The Disco’s most successful line to date.
