Pitchfork
Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial is not the slogan of an Etsy boutique that prints the phrase on Gildan hoodies and caps with adjustable strapbacks, but the title of his debut. The name has nothing to do with his music; it’s just an attempt to manufacture an identity or maybe inspire a few Instagram captions.

DJ Booth
Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial isn't a masterpiece, far from it, but it is a strong collection of songs. They’re loose in structure and savoring in sound, giving listeners just enough of Roddy Ricch to remain convinced that he's a star in the making.
-
NME
It’s been a massive year for Ricch, and this debut album is by no means a failure. It’s full of clever collaborations and interesting vocal performances; Roddy Ricch has placed himself comfortably in his own lane.

Roddy Ricch's 'Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial' continues to show strong streaming numbers a month after release.
-
Vulture Hound
In terms of music, I wonder if Ricch still needs to work on his style – finding the right balance between the hard and the soft; between the streets of Compton and the introspective rhymes – and maybe find some new sexual boasts. Overall, I feel like Ricch tried to do too much with too little. Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial might have been better as another mixtape. Maybe the album will make more sense to me in five years’ time, but for now, I won’t be coming back to it.

Music Connection
His debut is a collection in the same vein as the summertime bangers that made the 21-year-old a household name.

Learning Multiple Intelligence
Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial begins in the most cliche way possible—with a “Dreams and Nightmares”-style intro. As soon as the first somber piano key hits and Roddy starts wailing and reflecting on his upbringing, we know exactly where the track is headed, but he hits the marks well, including the intense beat switch, the motivational flex bars, the details about how he overcame the obstacles and secured the bag.

Banger Of The Day
Roddy Ricch uses a lot of different instruments ranging anywhere from an orchestral string section to Trap and Electronic Hip-Hop. Every song has something new to offer in both instrumentation and lyricism.

The Kool Korner Blog
Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial is a pretty good album. The first half of the album (tracks 1-7) aren’t as strong as the final half (tracks 8-16) but it still shows growth from his previous project. Roddy Ricch didn’t bombard us with features and didn’t drag out the listening with an overbearing track list. Instead he gave us a an album with A1 production, some great features and smooth transitions.

It is something new to the culture, in which, many artists before him have stepped onto the scene. He has introduced us with an “Intro” single then transitioned into a collaboration with Gunna track called “Start Wit Me.” With a dedication of “Die Young,” he stops and talks about how his friend had passed and moved to the West Coast because of it.
