Tech N9ne makes a triumphant return with an album that, while remaining “on brand” as left field, is as accessible and relevant as ever. This old head ain’t going nowhere.

To be honest, this is Tech N9ne’s best album since Special Effects in 2015. Aside from 1 track I could do without, you can’t deny that his pen-game is still deadly for someone who’s this deep in his career. Most importantly too: it’s mostly focused & consistent, both of which are what I feel like his last couple albums lacked. Just goes to show Tecca Nina isn’t leaving his place as the biggest independent artist in hip hop any time soon.

I can honestly say that there isn’t a bad song on this album. From start to finish, Tech N9ne keeps listeners entertained by being unpredictable when it comes to features, instrumentals, and topics.

This album should definitely get some play by everyone. Tech N9ne has created something special here that can appeal to just about anyone. If nothing else, the ability to sound so aggressive and deliver a message of peace is something to be heard.

Planet's sound is more in line with the 'popular' sounds out there but he still keeps that menacing undertone and breakneck double time flow, all while laying down some incredibly personal verses that make him even more relatable than ever. 20 albums in and he still finds ways to elevate his craft; I think it's more than time Tech N9ne gets the respect he deserves as one of hip-hop's greatest to ever do it - not only the hardest working.

There’s a something somewhat off-putting to the album initially, however it seems to be the very palpable anger and unease that Tech N9ne was feeling during the recording of the work. That being said, when given some time Planet reveals itself to be a multi-layered conceptual journey presented by one of hip-hop’s best rhymesayers.

In general, Planet is easy to listen to, with its prolific futuristic sound along with old-school elements it’s quite a mind-blowing sound venture which is interesting to go further.
