Penguin
| Fleetwood MacPenguin
Penguin is the seventh studio album by British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, released in March 1973. It was the first Fleetwood Mac album after the departure of Danny Kirwan, the first to feature Bob Weston and the only one to feature Dave Walker. The penguin is the band mascot favoured by John McVie. His fascination with the birds originated from when he lived near London Zoo during the early days of his marriage to Christine McVie. He was a member of the Zoological Society and would spend hours at the zoo studying and watching the penguins.-Wikipedia

Ultimate Classic Rock
Despite the drama, the band came up with a mostly solid offering.

All Music
All traces of blues-rock were gone, replaced by Welch's hypnotic melodies and McVie's romantic sentiments married to up-tempo pop tunes

Each song has its glorious moments, but which are too brief to even consider listening to again.

This one is just boring and complaintive. Nope. At least it's short and it doesn't spoil a truly enjoyable album.
-
Clems Music Reviews
Still, it has a lot of great tunes.
-
Vulture
This is a record of few surprises, but one that sustains attention with its steady cascade of airy and smooth-around-the-edges jams.
-
Isra Box
The wonder is that this phase in the band's career wasn't even more popular.

Daily Vault
Penguin rocks more than the other early 1970s Fleetwood Mac albums, yet the real highlight is the emergence of Christine McVie.
