The Ohio rapper’s new album sounds like a randomly generated playlist: tons of options, very little soul.

Pegasus may not be Trippie Redd’s best album, but that does not mean it isn’t worth listening to. As an artist, White goes with the flow, and he has a very fun, carefree personality. His carefree nature is obviously expressed through this album, as he throws together what he sees fit.

I feel like the album accurately showcases generation z’s short attention span, evil thoughts, and wacky approaches to romance.

Can’t really think of anything else to say about this album other that than, it’s just such a mess in comparison to everything he’s put out in the last. It’s way too bloated, mostly 1-dimensional, poorly produced, the features are just ok & Trippie’s painting himself in a corner with his style at this point.

Pegasus is as ambitious and wide-reaching as any of Trippie Redd's other releases, but it's so overstuffed and creatively empty that when the rare inspired moment does pop up (as with the unexpected acoustic guitars and genuinely pained wail of album closer "Sun God"), they're already lost to the overwhelming deluge.

While Pegasus is a solid effort from a more mature Trippie Redd than fans may have seen in the past, its focus is too scattered and its content doesn’t warrant a grueling 74-minutes of run time.

“Pegasus” didn’t really fully hit home but it did deliver some good Trippie tracks that have been saved to my playlist, I feel like as a fan of Trippie Redd we do see this pattern where his albums that aren’t part of his “Love Scars” series don’t quite raise the bar like we know he can as an artist. We do know one thing and that is that Trippie is constantly working and evolving as an artist and it won’t be long till we see another project.

Why is this album 75 minutes long?

Trippie Redd’s ‘Pegasus’ is draining rubbish.

Maybe if Pegasus was slimmed down and focused, it could have been decent, but the way it is, most won’t bear through a single listen. Even for the most die-hard of Trippie Redd fans, there’s nothing that makes this feel any different from his previous disaster, A Love Letter to You 4.

this album isn't versatile or gripping enough for a project this long, it's just too bloated at 26 tracks and over an hour and 14 minutes of content.
