The Red & Black
It's a flop. It’s hard to find the album and once you do, it’s just as hard to listen to.
-
Stitched Sound
This record is a step away from The Plain White T’s previous sound on American Nights; however, it is not too drastic and appears to be a natural progression for the band.
-
Amplify
Isn’t terrible as a pop album and on the surface it’s an easy listener, but it’s downfall is the over production and lyrically, it falls short
-
Cryptic Rock
Fans are likely to be divided on whether or not they want to explore this synthetically glitzy, largely mindless but certainly catchy universe.
-
Melodic Magazine
It might not have been what I expected, but it was still a really fun album. There was never a dull moment and the more I listen to it, the more I don’t want it to end.
-
Overdrive
Not what fans might expect, but as far as dance pop goes, this is pretty enjoyable to listen to.
-
Thomas Bleach
A little bit of nostalgia is always good and they could’ve played on that concept further instead of completely revamping their whole sound. But for long term fans this record is an exciting new beginning.
-
Dead Press
Unless you want to hear something mindlessly catchy there’s little else of value here.
-
All Music
They come across as the old guys who are butting into parties where they're not invited. The new threads don't fit them well and, in order to compensate, they decide to talk dirty, a decision that only makes them seem gauche and withered.
-
Stack
You might remember Plain White T’s for 2007’s cutesiest love song, but put it behind you, because these Illinois boys have finally found their libidos.
-
O'Colly
For listeners who find themselves in the lyrics, or perhaps alternative fans looking for a new kick, this album is definitely worth a listen.
-
Northern Star
The band succeeds in experimenting with a new sound.
-
5 Finger Review
The album captures you on first listen with catchy melodies and pop-friendly beats, but holds you beyond that with adroit songwriting and a well-developed relationships between instruments and layering.
-
Tempelores
From pop sound to mellow melodies, this album has it all. There are songs to dance to, as well as songs to relax and calm your mind.
