  • Abdow Avenue

More critical and matured fans of country music might enjoy the sentiment of some of these tracks but not find much else. Personally, as someone who finds myself in between these two categories I think it is a more than listenable album that I have no problems recommending to people I know will enjoy this.

  • Mind Equals Blown

Obsessed and this duo have so much potential to hog the top spots on the iTunes charts. They explore different themes, their lyrics are meaningful, and their diverse accumulation of instruments is unlike any country-pop band before them.

  • All Music

"Obsessed" shows that Dan + Shay can sell a song, plus they sound more convincing unadorned. The rest of the record, though, is enjoyable background music where the singers are incidental to the album's charms.

  • Your Life in A Song

We loved it. It’s the summer album that you will play in your cars with the hood down or, in our inclement climate, half a window opened.

The subject matter is raw and extremely emotional. The director, Patrick Tracey, as well as the actors, Pierson Fode’ and Katie Stevens, all did an outstanding job.

I'm thinking a very light 6/10, but if you're a fan of Dan + Shay, I heartily recommend this.

  • Variety Beat

Obsessed doesn’t abandon the sound that helped the duo shoot up the charts with “19 Me & You” and has some songs that reflect a similar lyrical and tone structure as their debut album. Obsessed also shows Dan + Shay’s maturity as individuals, songwriters and as a duo.

  • Loads of Music

Even though Dan + Shay are clearly in the country music genre, I personally think their music has some nice pop elements besides the typical country music parts.

This is as generic of a country album as you can get.
