  • Rough Edge

is easily the most progressive of their long and successful career. And it should also come as no surprise that this CD is a terrific rock'n'roll experience.

Still, anybody still paying attention to Deep Purple as of 2013 (...) would probably find this a worthwhile addition to their collection. Set your expectations correctly, but if you do so you'll enjoy it.

  • Louder Sound

The result was arguably the best album Purple had made since 1984’s Perfect Strangers – and one that stood as a fitting tribute to the late, lamented Jon Lord.

shows a band that still knows what to do, and that the album doesn't cater to the current studio tricks and processes only makes it feel and sound even more like it comes from the golden age of British prog metal

an intriguing, often brilliant, somewhat uneven album, by a group of great musicians who are clearly not satisfied just trying to recreate past glories. For a band in its 45th year, that is a definite sign of strength.

2013 - It’s simply brilliant in both music and the way it has been produced, the music — as always — is of a high standard when it comes to Deep Purple, and I feel that they have responded in the best way following Lord’s passing. I could sit here listening to it over and over again, and I highly recommend this album.

2013 - It's one of the best albums of Deep Purple's long career ... I highly, highly recommend Now What?!, particularly if you're a fan of early 70s rock and the Deep Purple Mark II lineup, because it is a return to form in the best possible way.

2013 - Although it isn't a classic album NOW What?! is able to present great technical moments with very "rocky" tracks, and an awesome collaboration between Steve Morse and Don Airey.

ongtime fans may need a bit of time to warm up to NOW What?! but the album is a fine example of how a band can continue to evolve while also retaining familiar elements.
