My World 2.0
| Justin BieberMy World 2.0
My World 2.0 is the debut studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter Justin Bieber. The album was released on 19 March 2010, by Island Records. It is considered the second half of a two-piece project, being supplemented by his debut extended play My World (2009). After signing a recording contract in light of his growing popularity on YouTube, Bieber worked with collaborators including his mentor Usher, and producers Tricky Stewart, The-Dream, and Midi Mafia. The record follows in the same vein as My World, incorporating pop, R&B, and experimental hip hop elements. Lyrically, it discusses teen romance and coming of age situations. --Wikipedia
Critic Reviews
Show All-
Rolling Stone
Bieber’s talent is not fully formed. He sings with swing and rhythmic dexterity (presumably learned from Usher), but his voice is nasal and lacks heft; the vocals sound pitch-corrected throughout.
-
Washington Post
Hopefully by the time "3.0" arrives, he'll be able to keep the party going for more than a song or two.
-
Consequence of Sound
Bieber may be more successful than his managers ever intended him to be. How about that?
-
Sputnik Music
It's effective and innocent Top 40 material, if not terribly inventive. It won’t do much to quiet the haters, but if he gets some quality material and reaches that inevitable “I’m coming out as a mature artist”-stage, he might establish himself as an enduring pop star.
-
All Music
The dance-pop songs are light on the ears yet memorable; the unrequited material sounds deeply felt; the ballads have all the necessary us-against-the-world teen-love dramatics.
-
Billboard
It shrewdly elevates him from a fleeting teen phenom into an evolving pop artist.
-
BBC
Team Bieber know exactly what they’re doing and who they’re talking to.
-
Entertainment ie
He has nice hair, and sings on overproduced backing tracks - but he could be a lot worse.
-
Pretty Much Amazing
It's ability to seamlessly flow between 2010 club hit and The Hills commercial backtrack really shows his growth not just as an artist, but as a writer.
-
Thank You For The Music
It’s a nice enough album but if your not a fan you probably won’t enjoy it, and it definitely is an album that acts as a sign that he needs to mature in time for the next record.
-
Digital Spy
Don't expect this album to push any musical boundaries, but at 16 years old, he is already showing signs of ambition beyond his current 'child star' status.
-
Slate
Bieber is not just a poster come to life, in other words, but a fleshed-out person whose ups and downs we can relate to and ride along with.
-
Spin Or Bin Music
Certainly this is not “Grammy worthy” music, but it is a fun and engaging record and that’s what the Bieber fever is all about.
-
Music OMH
It is for the most part an effective conduit for his singing and songwriting talents.
-
Creative Loafing
Much of the material on Bieber's full-length debut, My World 2.0, is more memorable than one might expect.
-
You Chew
It's a decent album that still manages to be bland at a few parts and something that might lead Justin into making something more complex for once.
-
Planet Ill
It is exactly what it should be. Bieber and company tap the right audience with the right songs and do it with clean production and decent arrangement

Justin Bieber rocks 'My World'
-
Bieber Guy
I have been pleasantly surprised that his music is not strictly teen pop; there's heavy R&B influences, and he does a great job on ballads as well.
-
badoomph
It’s not as bad as I make it sound, I’m sorry I’m just an Anti-Belieber who is trying to come to terms with the fact that Justin Bieber‘s actually quite good.

Select Start Media
The music is all very generic and boring. Maybe one or two of the tracks are catchy and have potential, but the better part of the album is filler.
