MUSCLE OF LOVE
| Alice CooperMUSCLE OF LOVE
MUSCLE OF LOVE - Cooper stated in an interview at the time of recording that the album marked a return to a basic rock sound. "It's not complicated in any sense and there's not a lot of theatricality on it. It's very basic rock and roll throughout." Cooper further explained, "Billion Dollar Babies was a studio effort all the way. So was School's Out. It was just so clean that after a few times of hearing it myself, it had no mystery to it. I really wanted this one to have more guts to it. More balls." -Wikipedia

Rolling Stone
1974 - While the album contains several highlights and wild-card experiments, its mood reveals that both the group and Alice are uncertain of what new directions they might turn to their own uses. This isn’t necessarily bad

All Music
perhaps Alice Cooper's most underrated record -- more than a few overlooked and forgotten classics reside here
-
Musoscribe
2016 - an overlooked gem worthy of deeper investigation (or at least another spin)
-
Classic Rock Revisited
still one of the important seven original releases to feature Alice Cooper, Glen Buxton, Dennis Dunaway, Neal Smith and Michael Bruce. They were the Alice Cooper Group and when they rocked, they rocked hard
-
Dan Burnetteal Album Reviews
2012 - I think it's Hard Rock with some of that theatrics in there. The variety helps me digest this faster.
-
Mark's Record Reviews
if you're looking for anything other than kickbutt guitar hooks and clever wordisms, this may not be the Alice Cooper album for you.
-
Infrared Magazine
2015 - a great sign that ALICE COOPER and his band were more than image, that they had a band who could back up a singer who is such a one of a kind icon
-
Only Solitaire
Even ONE (1) Alice Cooper muscle of love suffices to make a pretty damn good album. And no Ezrin!
-
Don Ignacio
It's almost painfully evident that they were treading water with this release! ... I'm sorry I can't come up with too many inspiring words to say about this, but such is the effect of this non-inspiring album!
-
Rough Edge
It's good, solid rock'n'roll, but it lacks the power and force of previous albums like " Killer," " School's Out" or " Billion Dollar Babies."
-
Hi-Res Edition
Recommended only for fans of Alice Cooper and quad collectors who must have it all.
-
Metal Storm
even if it is a drop in quality, Muscle Of Love sports some severely underrated tracks
