Milk and Honey
| John LennonMilk and Honey
Milk and Honey is an album by John Lennon and Yoko Ono released in 1984. Following the compilation The John Lennon Collection, it is Lennon's eighth and final studio album, and the first posthumous release of new Lennon music, having been recorded in the last months of his life during and following the sessions for his 1980 album Double Fantasy. It was assembled by Yoko Ono in association with the Geffen label. - Wikipedia

Rolling Stone
1984 - Unfortunately, the songs on the album don’t bear comparison to the work of such illustrious writers.

As the album comes toward the close, the tone turns sentimental.

Pop Matters
2001 - Milk and Honey finds Lennon in a happy state of mind, which is not a bad way to end a story at all.

Ultimate Classic Rock
2016 - Still, the public was craving for anything that provided insight into Lennon's mind in his final days.

Something Else Reviews
2015 - John Lennon’s Milk and Honey was unfinished, but still resonant.
-
The Nervous Breakdown
2014 - Milk and Honey is an album that is overlooked within Lennon’s catalogue; but, as I have recently discovered, it is a record with tremendous merit and insight into the aging process.

Those too numbed by tragedy or hope to connect with Double Fantasy aren't likely to hear this one either--it's definitely more of the same, in John's case outtakes.

Paste Magazine
2007 - Milk and Honey is similar, but Lennon’s material - such as the beautifully ragged sound fresher.
