Rolling Stone
Much of Meteora adheres to the overly familiar rap-rock template Linkin Park fit themselves into for Hybrid Theory.
-
Loud Wire
one of the biggest albums of the 21st Century and is still spinning in the players of many fans today
-
NME
It’s a welcome break from the usual LP formula of wicka wicka scratch, bad rapping and big chorus which dominates 80 per cent of the record.
-
BBC
The best of these songs are powerful, emotional, disciplined and impressive.
-
IGN
The album doesn't sound much different than 2000's Hybrid Theory, causing me to wonder if there's more to these guys than their one-trick-pony stylings.
-
Immortal Reviews
They brought raw anger and emotion to the surface in this record and took a much more raw approach to the album.
-
All Music
nothing more and nothing less than a Hybrid Theory part two
-
Music OMH
The opening track Don’t Stay, full of twisted riffs and swallowing beats, may seem misleading. The rest of the album is predictable.

Linkin Park's second album Meteora is undoubtedly the crowning musical achievement of their baffling international career

it's gleaming and powerful and flawless, but there's no blood in its veins

very meaningful songs like

Rock Sound
it was 'Meteora' that solidfied Linkin Park's legacy and carved it into the walls of history
-
AV Club
little more than a tolerable rehash of a formula that's been on the wrong side of its sell-by date for some time now
-
Punk News
their most assertive and decisive collection of tracks to date

a sound that I enjoyed, and lyrics that (as much as I hate to admit it now) really spoke to me

Incredible
-
Linkin Park Underground
an amazing album that is only held back because in comparison to later albums it isn’t as inventive
-
Gamer Scene
Every track is solid, and while some songs are more complex than others, they are all enjoyable.
-
Sound Scape Magazine
Linkin Park embodied nu metal on this new album and they proved that nobody out there could match them in quite the same way by making their songs have real depth and soundscape.
-
Hip Hop Online
Déjà vu in a record isn’t a good thing.
-
The Spectator
Meditating on the band’s feelings gives listeners a sense that they are being excluded, and the music is some kind of public therapy or sympathy for the artists.

'Meteora' has everything a fan or young newcomer could want

It may not totally be the cutting edge album they were aiming for, but it's close, and it's certainly interesting enough to listen to a few times.
