unexpectedly soothing melodies.

The Lantern
Curry has shown improvement and versatility in each project he has released thus far, and "Melt My Eyez See Your Future" is no exception. Not only did Curry maintain his winning streak with the project, but he knocked it out of the park, creating an album consisting of his most mature, well-thought-out lyrics to date.
-
Stereogum
Denzel Curry Made A Freewheeling, Therapeutic Rap Opus.
-
Treblezine
As the most deeply personal of Curry’s records to date, Melt My Eyez See Your Future could have found him pushing further into agitated and abrasive extremes. “I’m fucked up, and people around me are fucked up,” he said recently, but Melt My Eyez isn’t a scream into the void, but a more rich and lush-sounding form of healing. He’s going through it, sure—who among us isn’t right now? But exploring himself is as great as a challenge as he’s ever faced, and he’s never sounded so confident and capable.

Commedi
Overall, in "Melt My Eyez See Your Future," the production and lyricism are top-notch. It is clear to see that Denzel Curry has become increasingly better with his rapping ability, and is not afraid to try new things.
-
DIY Magazine
It feels like an album not caught in time, instead spanning and encompassing it.
-
Vibe
Running 14 tracks long, the album covers the gamut of Curry’s eclectic style, with terse lyrical exercises packaged in with occasional moments of unbridled rage.

Sputnik Music
When it comes to playing with time, Denzel has no equal at the moment. From dramatic pauses to vomiting on the mic just moments later, Melt My Eyz does it all seamlessly. While this album is a testimonial of Denzel's struggle, it still has a healthy amount of songs to keep the atmosphere of the album from being a somber one. Cuts like Aint No Way, X-Wing, and Sanjuro are a welcomed reprieve from the heavy subject matter on this album. Denzel has crumbled every protective barrier to dust on this record and the only thing that can obscure your view of him, are your own pre-conceived notions of who he is or should be.

The Line of Best Fit
If anything is true from Curry's fifth outing it's that he's adaptable and will never follow one flow in the name of success. Real victory comes from delivering something cohesively independent such as MELT MY EYEZ. And as promised we do indeed see the future.
-
Clash Magazine
Closing with ‘Illassusions’, the album is a breathless, breath-taking experience. The true testament of a rap iconoclast, ‘Melt My Eyez See The Future’ finds Denzel Curry sitting in a lane of his own. A unique, unified experience, it’s a boundary-less work of endless fascination.
-
Beats Per Minute
Melt My Eyez See Your Future is a profound exploration of the state of the world and Curry himself. He works with a diverse set of producers and collaborators to transform his sound and incorporates the aesthetics of Westerns and the samurai films that inspired them to disclose his inner feelings and personality. With this album, Curry wants to let the world know who he is and what he stands for, and the music is all the better for it.
-
Peanut Butter Pope
There really is too much to unpack, isn’t there? Denzel discusses the revolver he acquired to protect himself on John Wayne, over vicious gunshot effects, but the constancy of his gruelling raps is his greatest weapon. It correlates with genre juggling, reflectiveness, and a further series of kitchen sinks on Melt My Eyez See Your Future; a new mechanism, the eggshells and banana skins in Denzel Curry’s life remain, but he shifts into his truest form to deal with them once and for all.
-
The Needle Drop
Some of Zel's most layered and thoughtful work to date.
-
Pitchfork
The South Florida rapper internalizes his skeptical gaze, yielding music that’s more deliberately self-reflective, with few ragers or bangers.
-
Hot New HipHop
No longer content to be viewed as anything less than top-tier, Denzel Curry delivers his most expansive, explosive and accomplished body of work to date with "Melt My Eyez, See Your Future."
