Old Dominion — one of country music's few current, self-contained bands — write clever songs, work in various combinations and sometimes with outside collaborators, flesh out their own taut and tuneful arrangements, and attack their parts with playful precision.

As far as this record goes, do yourself a favor, don’t waste your precious time listening to it, it’s REALLY NOT worth it. I’ll be spending the rest of the day trying to get that time back and trying to un-hear the songs… wish me luck!

  • Building Our Own Nashville

I strongly recommend buying the cd or downloading the album as is a great album over all and I can only imagine that this band will blow up Nashville ( Not literally) in the coming months and dominate some of the award nominations.

  • Sounds Like Nashville

Old Dominion's 11-track major label debut Meat and Candy (out Nov. 6) was completely co-written by members of the band and effortlessly shows the quintet's depth with introspective, meatier tracks and their fun side with radio friendly, ear candy.

Meat and Candy is a very snackable album that’s easy to keep on repeat for an entire day —nothing is sweet enough to give one a belly ache.

It's hard to sound this light and easy, but Old Dominion do it with aplomb and they're such talented craftsmen that Meat & Candy sounds better on the fifth play than it does on the first, and it sounds mighty fine that first time through.

  • Tap Milwaukee

Across their first disc, the five members of Old Dominion display a finely tuned grasp on how country fans want to party, with plenty of undeniably catchy hooks over booze-fueled reflections on barroom love, flirtatious advances and tailgate revelry.

OLD DOMINION’S DEBUT, “MEAT AND CANDY,” IS A STEADY DIET OF WIT, DEPTH & FUN.
