Rap Reviews
To me, this is what “Teenage Emotions” was supposed to be like. An unrushed combination of aesthetics orchestrated by an outsider who continues to tread his own path.
-
All Music
Overall, the album is a step up, with some of Lil Yachty's most infectious songs and a deeper dimension slowly starting to show around the corners of his monotone style.
-
Vinyl Chapters
He can smash out a few hit singles, but Lil Boat 3 won’t be named album of the year.
-
Medium
Lil Boat 3 caps at a pretty crazy song to length ratio with 19 songs in 54 minutes. It disembowels its core with filler-sounding tracks that is mirrored by some one dimensional production.

HipHop DX
Lil Yachty Sounds Washed On 'Lil Boat 3'.
-
Clash Magazine
At times, ‘Lil Baby 3’ comes close to grappling with maturity, but Lil Yachty’s version of adulthood feels distinctly shallow.

Ratings Game Music
I do admit, I do love the vivacity Lil Yachty brought to the album, as a bunch of songs feature lively beats and tons of pizzazz. Lil Yachty, you are improving as an artist, but you still have a long way to go…

Surreal Resolution
It’s a slight improvement from Lil Boat 2, and yet the project is still the basic trimmings of trap beats although I’m liking some of the production on here, especially from Buddha Bless and EarlOnTheBeat, but never once was I dreading listening to it. It’s just the usual trap sound that I have heard before from other rappers.

Street Stalkin
This was obviously not the best time to release an album like this, but even if Lil Boat 3 came out in a time without so much surface tension (is such a thing still possible?), it’d still feel sloppy and forgettable. The presence of personalities like Lil Yachty’s should be welcomed, but the execution still needs to be there.

MPL Reviews
Lil Boat 3 may be the biggest disappointment of the year. With 19 songs, the issues of Lil Yachty sounding uninterested and refusing to try and unimaginative trap beats that could be heard on any no-name record show up on almost every song.

Brent Walther
This album was pretty boring and lacked original style in my opinion. It kind of sounded like a cross imitation of Travis Scott and Playboi Carti.

Naijalyricszone
Not much here to talk about no big essay on how he changed the rap game or whatever this was just a really enjoyable, pleasing, album by Yachty.
-
Hit Up Ange
This project definitely has its standout tracks along with its fillers and it definitely isn’t an album that is going to change the world, but Yachty has shown his growth through this trilogy and with the release of “Lil Boat 3” you can’t help but think what is next for Yachty.

HipHop Hopscotch
If shortened by 5 or 6 tracks, it had potential to be a very good album, it's got the right vibe for the Summer time it was released. Still though, it's a decent album and a massive improvement on his recent output.

The Needle Drop
Lil Boat 3 is an underwhelming end to the trilogy.
