LICK IT UP

Lick It Up is the eleventh studio album by American heavy metal band Kiss. On the day of its 1983 release, the band members appeared on MTV without their trademark make-up. It was the first public appearance without make-up by the band since their very early days, and their first for Mercury Records, where they had been signed following their departure from Casablanca Records. -Wikipedia

2015 - Kiss' new image and second strong album in a row were enough to return them to some degree of their former glory

2013 - Not quite as dynamic and anthemic as Creatures… but the solid sound of a band that means business. And business was good!

2012 - It’s brazenly simplistic, but KISS pull it off (again, thanks to Paul Stanley).

Lick It Up, actually contained some decent material. Once you got past the shock of seeing their faces, and the iffy Gene Simmons production (he improved in this regard as the years went on), you found some quality made-for-arenas hard rock.

The simplicity is wonderful because the riffs are CATCHY.
