Legendary is undoubtedly a bounce back from the Tyga we found at the beginning of 2018. At the same time, there’s an unmistakable air of "playing it safe" at the expense of any extreme emotion-- whether that be satisfaction or otherwise.

Medium
Tyga’s “Legendary” is a representation of the current state of Hip Hop. The saturation of the market leaves little room for upcoming artists to grow or progress, especially ones who had great debuts, such as Tyga.

HIP HOP DX
If Tyga’s goal is to be as Legendary as the title of his latest album suggests, he needs to do better. After all, he certainly knows better.

Rap Reviews
Why should he work hard on critically acclaimed albums that sell poorly when he can just rap about p***y for 42 minutes over hot beats and go gold? That’s a smart dude. Unfortunately with such mediocre lyrics he doesn’t SOUND like a smart dude, but I sincerely doubt he cares and the clubs this is meant for won’t either.

Hit Up Ange
Tyga is still producing club bangers and some of these tracks will go down well during this summer and potentially next if they have the longevity of “Taste”.

DOPECAUSEWESAID
Overall, I think that this is a solid project with a ton of replay value.

VULTURE
Legendary is really a smarter, more judiciously crafted version of a DJ Khaled album: It ropes in major stars, up-and-comers, and bubbling sounds but molds them into the coherent vision of a single human being.

The Anomaly Diary
Does Legendary make Tyga live up to the title? It depends on your perspective. He’s an okay rapper to me and this album just proves he can make a comeback but I’m not so sure about the legendary status.

If you’re looking for an album with more substance, this ain’t it. If you want some ratchet music to work out to or to get the party started, you will have a ratchet good time with Legendary.
