K.T.S.E.

K.T.S.E. (an initialism of Keep That Same Energy) is the second studio album by American recording artist Teyana Taylor. In 2018, it was announced that Kanye West would be producing K.T.S.E. Taylor's and West's efforts resulted in an R&B album that heavily featured soul based productions and sampling. -Wikipedia

Teyana Taylor and her tremendous voice are so deft at performing modernist soul with the genre’s forebears as her backdrop, and her album features some of the best Old Kanye beats heard this year.

Taylor’s new album K.T.S.E. (or Keep That Same Energy) closes out G.O.O.D. Music’s battery of month-long Wyoming projects on a self-assured high note.

  • Highsnobiety

Her latest album, Keep That Same Energy, isn’t about changing the formula — it lives and breathes this aesthetic while spritzing in elements of where she could go, if she were to deviate from her style.

Thanks to Taylor’s new direction, K.T.S.E. ends up being the most fun of any of G.O.O.D. Music’s recent releases, existing without the self-seriousness that weighed down the albums from Pusha T, Kid Cudi, Nas and West himself.

The release of K.T.S.E. may be a day late, but it still has the promise to break new ground, positioning Taylor's voice before listeners who were unaware, uninterested, or simply overlooked her debut.

K.T.S.E. is at its best when Teyana is at the forefront, mixing styles and ideas into one cohesive package. It’s modern and rash at times, but it never forgets where it came from.
