JAZZ
| QueenJAZZ
Jazz is the seventh studio album by the British rock band Queen. It was released on 10 November 1978 by EMI Records in the United Kingdom and by Elektra Records in the United States. Produced by Roy Thomas Baker, the album artwork was suggested by Roger Taylor, who previously saw a similar design painted on the Berlin Wall. The album's varying musical styles were alternately praised and criticised. It reached #2 in the UK Albums Chart and #6 on the US Billboard 200. Jazz has sold over 5 million copies worldwide. -Wikipedia

But since over-the-top campiness has always been an attribute in Queen, this kind of grand-scale exaggeration gives Jazz a sense of ridiculousness that makes it more fun than many of their other albums.

But there is one album within that time span that’s my favorite, and quite possibly the most underrated, which would be Jazz
-
UltimateClassic Rock
while it would predictably add to the band’s winning streak by spinning off several hit singles and topping charts around the world, it remains one of the most distinct records in the band's discography

Corvallis Review
Queen never really sought to be understood. Jazz makes this point clear. Critic’s recommendation: Pop in this album while biking around town and just try not to belt out these tunes.

Don Ignacio
my second favorite album from Queen

Eagle and Child
There are some great deep cuts on this record
-
Medium
This is definitely the most light-hearted Queen album so far. Some of it works better than others.

Alphoristic Album Reviews
Jazz was Queen’s weakest album to date, lacking the spark of previous releases; even so it’s recommended for fans since it contains a batch of competent overlooked songs.

Adrian's Album Reviews
First things first, this album is patchy, very patchy and it hurts.

Wow, this is ever so much better than last time around - I definitely like this album.

there are a lot of good songs, but very few that are good songs compared to Queen's standard

2018 - A special musical moment where inspirational songwriting and performances came together perfectly, captured forever, and will never again to be repeated.

Louder Sound
Jazz wasn’t a true rock album, but its spirit reflects the fact that nobody understood better than Queen what rock music could achieve.

The music has a lot of interesting elements and there is much to explore on this album. I always enjoy listening to Jazz and it comes around fairly frequently in my album rotation.
