James Arthur

James Arthur is the eponymously titled debut studio album by British singer and songwriter James Arthur. It was released on 1 November 2013 by Syco Music. The album includes the singles "Impossible", Arthur's X Factor winner's single, and "You're Nobody 'til Somebody Loves You", as well as collaborations with Emeli Sand and Chasing Grace. The album debuted at number 2 on the UK Albums Chart, kept off the top spot by Eminem's The Marshall Mathers LP 2. It became the 30th best-selling album of the year in the UK, despite iTune soffering refunds for fans after Arthur became embroiled in a homophobia row. As of 16 February 2017, it has sold over 287,000 copies in the UK. -Wikipedia

  • The Gaurdian

That is, unsubtle, unrelentingly emoting and singing every phrase with what sounds like that constipated, really-really-meaning-it face, apparently now as obligatory as the sob story.

  • Independent UK

Arthur grossly overdoes the emotional groaning that passes for vocal expression in the album's more overwrought corners.

The album is certainly a welcome change from the usual X Factor fare but it remains to be seen whether its tense jumble can satisfy an audience which has come to expect, well, not much at all.

  • Spin or Bin Music

Overall, it's a debut album that will do quite well, since James Arthur has an undeniably great vocal, but give the man some credit and let him do his thang; we could all end up with a true winner then.

  • Renowned for Sound

Overall, James Arthur is definitely a talented extraordinaire and his self-titled album being his first release shows there’s a lot of talented works in the near future by the man himself.
