By the measure of pure sound, It Is Time for a Love Revolution is a glorious feast of retro-rock pleasures--a feast of empty calories, perhaps, but sometimes fast food is more irresistible than a five-course meal.

It’s Time For A Love Revolution, his eighth LP, easily ranks among his highest achievements.

His infamous mane may be shorn, but the songs on It Is Time for a Love Revolution remain the same: guitar-heavy, psychedelic-swirly, and determinedly flower-powered.

Ultimately bogged down by spirituality, guitar solos and soppy ballads, this comeback should nonetheless win Kravitz a few hearts, even if he doesn't discover a soulmate.

Overall this is a major letdown.

There are glimpses of the rocker he used to be, but too much of the album is nothing more than the same bland adult contemporary fodder he has been dishing out lately, dressed up with slightly cranked up guitar.

Love Revolution contains some of his hackiest work yet.

Fans of Kravitz are sure to love the album and those who are not fans will find his sense of new classic rock genuine. His vocal swagger is reminiscent of '70s rock and the melodic laces of soul and funk rekindle a mode of dance-rock. Lenny Kravitz sounds the same without actually repeating himself with It's Time For A Love Revolution, which is a credit to his loyalty and ability to grow with the times.

If you are a no-holds barred, true fan of Kravitz's music, then this is for you. Otherwise, just hope and pray that one day he will give his fans what they really want -- the on-again, off-again Funk CD that hopefully will be released on the same day as Guns N' Roses' Chinese Democracy.

As a whole, and after a series of somewhat lackluster efforts since Are You Gonna Go My Way?, It Is Time For A Love Revolution is a welcome surprise. Kravitz seems to have reclaimed some of his previous magic and went with it.

There's nothing actively wrong with anything, it's just all so ultimately forgettable.

Lenny’s got a new album out; it’s painfully similar to all his others, and nowhere near as good as the records he listens to.

is Kravitz’s first new release in over three years; the record is a thunderous rock ‘n roll call-to-arms, featuring a universal blend of soul, funk, and jazz grooves and the undeniable anthemic lyricism that’s been his trademark from day one.

As a music fan I am disappointed that Lenny has turned in a terrible album.

Lenny Kravitz's guitar work remains strong on the new album, but the core songwriting doesn't always follow suit.

The album is funky, rocking, and laid back all at the same time; an excellent blend of the old and the new. If you’ve enjoyed any of Kravitz’s music in the past, then you’ll like It Is Time For A Love Revolution. If you’ve never been a fan, then maybe this latest album will change your mind. I’ve really been enjoying it over the past few weeks.
